Andrew is a nationally recognised sports lawyer operating across various commercial aspects of sport. He joined Couchmans in June 2009 having previously been Head of Sport at two national law firms and Director of Legal Affairs at Newcastle United plc.
Andrew has particular experience in broadcasting work, having advised The Football League on its domestic and international media rights deals for its three competitions from the 2009/10 season. This involved advising on the tender documents and processes and the long form agreements with the successful bidders, Sky and BBC (in the UK) and six overseas partners (three broadcasters and three agencies). Andrew has also advised Premier Rugby, The Rugby Football League, World Snooker and BT Vision on media rights agreements.
Other areas Andrew has worked in include sponsorships (including AIG, The Football League, Manchester City and Newcastle United), affinity arrangements, sports data, gambling, financing schemes and commercial arrangements such as outsourcing (which include acting recently for Kitbag on its long term agreement to operate all of the retail operations of Everton FC).
